We were asked to help out Blue Bell Wood Children’s Hospice with their Christmas 2022 Tree Recycling Project, it was a really easy decision - YES!

Helping to support a fantastic, local cause

Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice are a local charity who help families in the area wanting an alternative to hospital care. They do a fantastic job supporting families from across South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire, North Nottinghamshire and parts of North Lincolnshire.

How Hopkinson Waste Helped

We dropped off a large RoRo skip (Roll on Roll Off) in the early days of January 2023. People could then book their Christmas tree to be dropped off for recycling and make a donation to Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice, helping them to continue the fantastic work they do locally.

With our contribution and the support of other local businesses, the hospice was able to collect a record number of trees for recycling and raise a staggering £33,319 to help support local families across the region.

What the people involved had to say

I am so proud of this campaign and wanted to get in touch to share my personal thanks for making this year the smoothest and most enjoyable yet (despite me and most of our team battling the flu!). We could not do this campaign to the level it’s now without your generous help and support. Each year we are growing the campaign which means more and more money going exactly where it’s needed, providing the children and families we support with the magical opportunity of creating the most precious memories together.

Hopkinson Waste Have been a part of the Chesterfield community for over 25 years’. We are always keen to lend a hand where we can. When the opportunity arose to not only support a local charity, but to help them recycle, we jumped at the chance!

We agreed to provide a RoRo. but upon turning up to collect the skip a few weeks later we noticed there were still lots of trees arriving and quickly arranged for a second skip to replace it. It’s great to see the local community all lending a hand to recycle, but most importantly this reflects the fantastic amount of money that has been raised to support this amazing charity. It has been great to be involved in this project, we are already looking forward to helping them out again for the 2023 campaign.
